My goal? To help you bulldoze through life’s roadblocks, stick to your values, flex your strengths, and walk away with a toolkit that actually works, long after our sessions are over.
No fluff, just forward momentum.
“In my therapy practice, I mix a variety of evidence-based approaches like CBT, Narrative Therapy, Talk Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques to create a space that’s supportive, collaborative, and actually gets results (without the cliché couch cliché).”
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship twists, life transitions, or just trying to make sense of it all, our work together will be customized to fit your goals because one-size-fits-all therapy is “So LAST Season. “
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a structured, goal-oriented form of therapy that helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. It focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with more balanced, realistic thoughts, which can lead to healthier emotional responses and behaviors. CBT is practical, skills-based, and typically focuses on present challenges rather than only past experiences.
Talk Therapy, is a form of counseling where a person speaks with a trained therapist about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. It helps individuals better understand themselves, process emotions, work through challenges, and develop healthier ways of coping. The goal is to gain insight, build skills, and create positive changes in thinking, behavior, and relationships.
Narrative Therapy is a type of therapy that helps people see their problems as separate from who they are. It focuses on the stories people tell about their lives and helps them reshape those stories in ways that highlight their strengths, values, and abilities. The goal is to create a more empowering and hopeful view of themselves and their experiences.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented approach to therapy that focuses on finding solutions rather than analyzing problems. It helps people identify their strengths, resources, and past successes to create practical steps toward positive change. The focus is on what is working and how to build
Hi, I’m Sayra Besner, a Miami therapist, credentialed, LCSW. I’ve been passionate about helping people navigate life’s twists, turns, and occasional plot twists for as long as I can remember. I earned my master’s in social work from Barry University in 2007 and kicked off my career in New York City, first as the Director of an outpatient mental health clinic, then managing a halfway house for women with co-occurring disorders. Those experiences taught me a lot about resilience, empathy, and the fact that sometimes life really does require a strong cup of coffee (or three).
After that, I hit pause on professional life to focus on raising my two amazing kids. During that time, I also experienced postpartum depression, which gave me firsthand insight into the rollercoaster of parenthood and life transitions and fueled my commitment to supporting others through the messy, wonderful parts of life.
Now, as a single mom and owner of my private practice, I work with people from all walks of life, with a special focus on women’s issues. Whether it’s anxiety, guilt, identity struggles, or just trying to make sense of the chaos, I’m here to help you move closer to your goals and maybe even laugh a little along the way.
